XYLOURIDES return to Australia for Brunswick Music Festival 2026. Descendants of Cretan legends Nikos Xylouris and Psarantonis from Anogeia, Crete, siblings Adonis, Nikos and Apollonia are virtuoso exponents of ancient Cretan folk. Nikos' lightning-fast lyra, Adonis' explosive lauto, and Apollonia's percussion create hypnotic music that can last 12 hours.
After selling out Melbourne shows in 2024-2025 and closing Antipodes Festival to thousands on a packed Lonsdale Street, these young trailblazers bring mountain spirit traditions alive.
