Making their Melbourne debut, New Orleans’ Grammy-nominated Hot 8 Brass Band are stirring up excitement with their new album On The Spot.

For over two decades the band has paired hard-hitting, heart-on-sleeve sentiment, party-fuelling beats, hooks and grooves with inimitable Big Easy jazz. The buzz and spontaneous synchronicity of their live shows has fuelled their development from the New Orleans streets to the forefront of the global scene.

The Hot 8 Brass Band bring the undiluted energy of New Orleans Second Line parades to the stage, and with the ability to honour their city’s musical traditions, have forged a powerful musical legacy. Always in demand and genre defying they’ve collaborated with Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, The Roots and the Blind Boys of Alabama, appeared in two Spike Lee documentaries and the HBO series Treme.

New wave brass band Bullhorn will get the party started with their high-octane combination of hard-hitting hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, reggae and dance that never fails to get audiences moving.
