Nothing compares to the atmosphere and good vibe of the Sydney Road Street Party when the good citizens of Moreland reclaim the street for one of the biggest multicultural gatherings in Melbourne. It’s a genuine all-ages day, celebrating peace, understanding and cultural diversity. So come and join us for a day of music, song, dance, kids shows, street theatre, culinary delights from around the globe and market stalls to keep you attired, inspired and informed.

Moreland City Council has introduced a local law that prohibits the consumption and possession of alcohol on Sydney Road for the duration of the street party. Consumption of alcohol is therefore restricted to licensed areas only.

Catch the Tram to the Street Party. Tram No 19 runs from Coburg to Blyth St and then from Weston St to the City. A bus replaces trams from Blyth to Weston Streets via Lygon Street.

Sounds of Polynesia’s vibrant performance takes audiences on a journey around the Cook Islands through dances such as the Greeting Dance, Coconut Dance, Farewell Dance and traditional warrior chants.
3.15 Tango Collusion Duo
Leonardo Intilangelo and Andrew James are a bandoneón and piano duo based in Melbourne. In the tradition of urban music from Buenos Aires, their tangos are poetic, lyrical, edgy and raw.

From the Night Clubs of Istanbul and Silver Screens of Mumbai, Azura’s Oasis brings you Bellydance and Bollywood Entertainment at its’ dazzling, glamorous and sequined best!
5.15 Bohemian Nights
Violinist Ernie Gruner, accordionist/singer Phil Carroll and bassist Ron Hansen play Gypsy, Klezmer, Middle-Eastern, French, Italian, Russian, jazz and tango music which range from soulful to wild.
6.15 Rebetiki
Rebetiki play urban Greek blues along with rural folk music from many regions of Greece on a variety of instruments including the traditional six string bouzouki, baglama, oud, lute, guitar and percussion

12.15 The Elliotts
Founded by songwriter, lead singer, and guitarist; Robbie Elliott, with identical twin brother Clinton, on backing vocals and keyboard , bassist, James Howlett, who joins on third part harmonies, Lead guitarist, Beau Fisher on Rhythm. The youngest of the Elliott brothers, Lewis, plays drums.
1.30 Toot Toot Toots
The Toot Toot Toots explore the sounds of 60’s spaghetti-western, the lyricism of Tom Waits, and the theatricality of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Their shows are a dynamo-flamboyant, hyper-rowdy carouse complete with horn section and go-go dancers.

The Harpoons are a young R'n'B, pop band based in Collingwood, Melbourne. Brothers Henry and Jack Madin's undeniable hits and ballads burst with harmony . The sometimes breathy, sometimes bellowing Bec Rigby sings along and Martin King gives the songs their vibealicious backbone by seducing the skins.

Valanga Khoza charms his audiences with humour and wit, telling stories of his life growing up in South Africa and his travels across the world as a refugee. These stories are embellished by beautiful music form many traditional instruments such as the kalimba, marimba and shijoro (jaw harp) aswell as irresistable rhythms from the guitar, percussion and Valanga’s velvety voice.

Gerry Paul is a songwriter with a passion for quirky and wacky songs. Recently, it has manifested itself into a collection of ten children's songs called "Tales from the Sea and an Elephant Tree".

Upfield Line Train to Jewell or Brunswick Stations.
Tram service will be replaced by bus service all day.
