This year’s Music For The People sees the event move in an exciting new direction. It will include a snapshot of the vibrancy that is the Brunswick music scene and Festival, plus a flavour of the wider multicultural Moreland community.

The programme will feature a special presentation of Koorie Stories, an intimate musical journey into indigenous song writing, featuring Kuthcha Edwards and special guests. The Josh Owen Band who play a modern day spin of funk, jazz, soul and reggae. With performances at Queenscliff and Port Fairy amongst other Festivals, Owen is a star in the making. Sol Nation fronted by Paolo Almeida from the Dili All Stars and Deline Briscoe a rising indigenous songstress in her own right. Sol Nation is more than a band; it’s a meeting of nations and cultures, East Timorese, Indigenous and Australian. Our community supporters’ 3ZZZ radio will also feature a variety of traditional and contemporary multicultural performances.

If the music does not leave a sweet taste in your mouth then the theme for this year – Let them eat cake will. Traditional sweets from many of Moreland’s’ diverse cultures will be available on the day to tempt your taste buds. Come and enjoy this all ages, inclusive, family day with a picnic on the lawn and performances in the Town Hall.
