The
City of Moreland is one of the Australias most culturally diverse
communities. Council is proud to support one of Australias most
diverse and exciting festivals.
The Brunswick Music Festival brings Moreland and the broader community
together in a celebration of music and the arts. We at Moreland
believe that the arts and cultural expression engages, educates
and challenges, while strengthening and contributing to the development
of individual and community identity.
In 2010, Moreland City Council is proud to be the Principal Public
Partner of the twenty-second Brunswick Music Festival. Our continued
support of this internationally recognised Festival indicates Councils
strong commitment to the promotion of the arts. Council is committed
to the promotion and presentation of diversity, quality and innovation
in music making.
As always, the Festival opens with an exciting weekend of free
community events. On Saturday 27 February, Moreland City Council
presents the Music for the People free concert featuring
musicians from around the world, performing at the Coburg Town Hall.
The next day, is the Sydney Road Street Party with six music stages,
culturally diverse food, craft stalls and street entertainment.
Both events celebrate our community and the unique identity of Moreland.
The organisers of the Brunswick Music Festival have prepared an
outstanding program of local, Australian and world artists. Congratulations
to Performing Arts Moreland, John McAuslan and his team for a fantastic
artistic program.
