COLUM SANDS
Colum Sands has performed in over thirty countries around
the world, confirming the universal appeal for the songs and
stories with which he observes the minute and often-humorous
details of life. His shows are characterized by a beautiful
understated dry humour and wit, his lovely droll story telling
and his clever and seemingly simple songs. He's an open and
entertaining performer with an amazing ability to take his
audiences into the world he grew up in and the one he travels
now.
Colum is a member of the internationally renowned Sands Family
from County Down, Ireland, Colum established his reputation
as a songwriter with the release of his first solo album in
1981. Since this time he has released a further six albums
to wide acclaim, including his latest release, Live in Concert
- Songs and Stories.

Sands was recently presented with the Living Tradition Award
for services to Folk and Traditional Music. He is also known
for his work with Israeli storyteller Sharon Aviv, his writing
