1964 Japanese classic with live soundtrack by Mike Cooper

Mike Cooper, has been presenting silent film and live soundtrack at the festival for 12 years. His movie this year is the unsettling Japanese film Onibaba – Kaneto Shindo’s psychosexual tale of unrequited lust and dubious morality, a fantastic cautionary fable with a dark and unique atmosphere. Mike’s score as usual delves into electronica – ‘space’ slide Hawaiian guitar, ethereal vocals, samples, all lovingly digitally treated and performed and introduced by himself. Mike will also conduct a Q & A session at the conclusion of the film.
