Guy Davis Website
Guy Davis is an Afro-American bluesman, one of a new wave
of performers in the states who have chosen to follow the
traditions of the country folk blues. In the rural mould of
Robert Johnson and Mississippi John Hurt, he has a voice like
Howlin Wolf dipped in honey. Like the best early bluesmen,
Guy Davis is, at heart, a storyteller. A master at setting
intimate, richly nuanced tales to stomping acoustic blues
backing, he has helped revitalize the state of country blues
in North America. His most recent album Skunkmello is the
most successful of his nine recordings. Guys last visit
in 2005 was one of the highlights of the festival.
PAUL DE BOE
Sir Paul de Boe Frequent adult themes and
occasional intimacy. With echoes of Nina Simone and
Robbie Basho, and as unique as either, Sir Paul returns with
a program of stunning new songs and some much loved greatest
hits. Multi-instrumentalist Ken Maher, gently places
gorgeous melodic decorations in Sir Pauls dreamy political
landscapes. A musical marriage made in a brooding heaven.
