PEGGY SEEGER

the Peggy Seeger Website
Born into one of North America's foremost folk music families,
with over 50 years of performance experience and over 100
collaborative and solo recordings, Peggy Seeger is
by far one of the most consummate artists performing today.
Coupled with a sharp sense of humour, her performances are
a diverse and spellbinding presentation of traditional Anglo-American
songs and ballads, stories, poetry and finely crafted contemporary
songs. A highly skilled multi-instrumentalist, Peggy's songs
are accompanied on 5-string banjo, guitar, English concertina,
autoharp and piano.
Peggy's latest album Three Score and Ten, is a 2 CD
distillation of recordings from her 70th birthday concert,
held in 2005 in the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. It features
Billy Bragg, Martin and Eliza Carthy, Norma Waterson, Calum
and Neill MacColl, Mike and Pete Seeger, to name but a few.
A stirring tribute, it includes instrumentals, Peggy's poems
and songs, and above all a festive atmosphere.
JUDY SMALL

the Judy Small Website
Judy Small needs no introduction and is a Brunswick
festival favourite and is among the few artists appearing
this year who also performed at the first Brunswick festival
in 1989. Judy has been active again on the touring circuit
with her late 2007 national tour to celebrate her 25th. year
'in the biz' and to launch her latest recording Live at the
Artery. Peggy and Judy are two of the most enlightened and
respected women's voices in world folk music, there's a definite
early booking warning on this show.
