Bob Fox Website
Bob Fox is from County Durham in the North East of
England and his performance is deeply influenced by the working
class culture and industrial folk song from that area.
He has been a professional folk singer since 1975 and during
the course of his career has released several award winning
recordings starting in 1977 with a vinyl album voted Melody
Maker's Folk Album of the year called Nowt So Good'll Pass
and more recently in 2002 and 2003 he was nominated "Best
Folk Singer" in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Bob has
been described as "the most complete male folk artist
on the British folk scene" by The Daily Telegraph and
his voice and singing style is envied by many of his contemporaries.
SAOIRSE
Saoirse (meaning freedom - relating to movement) are a
vibrant vocal and dance trio from Melbourne. They perform
mainly traditional Irish songs and ballads (in Gaelic and
in English) as well as some spirited jigs and reels to get
your feet tapping. This engaging trio is Bernadette O'Neill
- bodhran and vocals, Kerry McManus- whistle and vocals
and Sile Coleman- guitar and vocals. Saoirse were delighted
to perform at Celtic Nations Concert for the past two years.
The girls were a true favourite at the National Celtic Festival
2007 in Portarlington and have successfully launched their
first album, Singin' In The Scullery Sept. 07.
