EDDI READER

Eddi Reader Website
Born into a working class Glasgow family, Eddi Reader
traveled the well trodden road south to London and eventual
fame with the highly popular band Fairground Attraction. Her
vocal abilities quickly transcended the norm for factory,
big studio pop as she moved on to a solo career. She has effortlessly
developed into one of popular music's most thrilling and affecting
performers. Whilst the perfection of her technique is widely
acknowledged, what sets Reader apart is the depth and quality
of the emotional performance; her ability not only to move
the listener but to connect her experience to that of her
audience.
Eddi has most recently released (2007) Peacetime on Rough
Trade Records, this album follows one of the most successful
stages in Eddi's career - the release of her stunning interpretations
of the Songs Of Robert Burns. The Robert Burns project saw
her awarded an MBE for outstanding contributions to the arts,
and also motivated the University of Glasgow to award her
with an honorary doctorate in music. Eddi will be joined by
the long time musical accompanists Boo Hewerdine on
guitar and Irish accordeon maestro Alan Kelly.

Tecoma Website
Amira Pyliotis, the musician behind Tecoma,
grew up in Melbourne, before a 'sea change' move took her
to the desert of Central Australia. With songs born in the
desert and shaped in the city, Tecoma's sound defies easy
categorisation. Tecoma seamlessly combines styles as jarring
and disparate as country, jazz and roots music, with drum
and bass rhythms, spaghetti western themes and sampled beats.
Amira will be accompanied by electric & upright bassist
Lucas Taranto and Sal Kimber on vocal harmonies/
banjo and piano accordion. Tecoma has recently released her
new brand new album Home Brew.
