Incredible talent features in two specially curated flagship festival events

Celebrating our 30th year as Melbourne’s longest running inner city music festival, Brunswick Music Festival has curated a careful selection of incredible talent for two flagship events.

With a line-up featuring a handful of Melbourne’s most talented, powerful and stylistically diverse female musicians, Wild, Fearless and Free is happening Thursday 8 March to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Featuring Stella Angelico, Sophie Koh, Jessica Hitchcock, The Black Sistaz and Kathleen Halloran, with DJ Maddy Mac free in the Festival Hub bar before and after the show.

These inspirational women will be bringing it all; from multi-instrumental pop to political protest anthems, unforgettable vocal and guitar performances and influences from the Torres Strait, Chinese poetry and beyond.

Brunswick has a lot to show for itself. From hosting the longest running inner city music festival in Melbourne to being declared the number one home of songwriting in Australia by APRA/AMCOS.

In a special 90 minute show happening Friday 16 March, Songs of 3056 honours the Brunswick spirit through a retrospective look at 30 years of Brunswick Music Festival.

Featuring Thando, Joshua Tavares, Simon Burke, Kylie Auldist, Sal Kimber, Kavisha Mazzella, Xani Kolac and the Spire Ensemble, with DJ Crispi free in the Festival Hub bar before and after the show.

Showcasing the breadth of talent the Brunswick music scene has nurtured over the years is no easy task, yet we’ve managed to squeeze everything from folk to country to soul into the show. Expect impassioned lyrics and stories infused with style, groove and musical prowess – championing the talents of the area and echoing the rich music scene we’ve come to know and love.
