Máirtín O'CONNOR BAND
Since 2001 when they first met Máirtín O'Connor, Cathal Hayden and Seamie O'Dowd have been building a formidable musical relationship under the guise of the Máirtín O'Connor Band. Their rapport with each other and the audience is immediate and the band have successfully toured Ireland, Britain, Europe, and Australia, where they played as part of the Masters of Tradition concert at the Sydney Opera House, Concert Hall in January 2010. Individually they have built solid reputations as master musicians with astounding skill, diversity and virtuosity. Together they produce a vibrant and musically charged experience that redefines one's concept of brilliance, verging on perfection. Máirtín O'Connor is an outstanding accordion player, inventive and imaginative with almost perfect technique, he has played and recorded with De Dannan, Skylark, The Chieftains, Elvis Costello, Mark Knopfler and The Waterboys. Cathal Hayden (fiddle and banjo) was one of founding members of the legendary band Four Men and A Dog, and has gone to be recognized as one of Ireland's most excellent traditional musicians. Seamie O'Dowd (guitar, vocals) is an accomplished multi instrumentalist who holds down the rhythm and sings with this remarkable trio. He has played with Dervish, Matt Malloy and Liam O'Flynn.

TONY O'NEILL TRIO
Anthony O'Neill is one of Melbourne's elite traditional musicians, brought up in an vibrant Melbourne Irish music scene, he was already an accomplished player in his early teens, spending many hours playing with his long time friend Louis McManus and the famous Fitzgerald family from County Clare. He has since developed into a superb musician, known best for his guitar and mandolin playing, but equally adept on fiddle, bouzouki and in fact anything with strings. He is joined by his long time cohort Dan Burke on fiddle and Kate Burke on guitar and vocals. This is a fabulous concert to celebrate the beauty and excitement of Irish music at its very best.

THE LOUIS McMANUS MEMORIAL CONCERT
2010 marks the 22nd anniversary of the Brunswick Music Festival, and over those 22 years, no-one has captured 'the heart and soul' of the Festival more than the late Louis McManus. Louis lived in Brunswick for more than ten years and this was his 'home-town' festival. It was fitting then, that he played such a major role in the 1st Brunswick Music Festival way back in 1989. Louis would go on to play at the Brunswick Music Festival with either the The Purple Dentists or the Leisure Twins each and every year until illness forced him from the stage. The Annual Louis McManus Memorial Concert, presented as a part of the Brunswick Music Festival, is an opportunity to celebrate the music and the friendship that we all shared with Louis.
