VIN GARBUTT We are delighted to welcome back from Teeside in NE England the fabulous Vin Garbutt. The funniest man in folk music is back on an almost full schedule after suffering a serious heart attack several years back. While this slowed him down somewhat, it has not prevented him celebrating 40 years on the road and with this Australian tour completing year-long international 'Forty Years Of Successful Anonymity' tour. This year also brings the release of a documentary movie about Vin, Teesside Troubadour also released on DVD. Its hard to imagine Vin not on the road entertaining audiences all over the world with an act which as always remains a dexterous balancing act between his poignant songs of beauty and conscience and his manic and anarchic humour. Master of the pun and glorious word play long may he continue to do so. At the head of this century Vin was voted Britain's best live performer, a coveted award indeed, and years later he's still a force to be reckoned with, still pulling no punches and still pulling crowds wherever he plays around the world. Eric Bogle, Joe Dolce and others have recorded Bruce Watson songs. He has received a swag of awards. The Bruce Watson Trio joins Bruce's talents with Lyndal Chambers (accordion) and Brian 'Strat' Strating,(fiddle and strings) adding extra richness, lushness and excitement to Bruce's songs. Bruce recently released a new album Balance, to add to his songbook and his 5 previous recordings.
